We sat at the front door watching outside. The first flurry came down. I screeched. The boys and I all stood in the doorway and Colten cheered, "Snow! snow! It's snowing!" I threw a pan outside to gather snow for snow candy later in the week. Before long the snow was coming down in big chunks. I squinted my eyes to see if I could see snowflakes, but it was coming down so fast that I couldn't see anything. We put on layers and layers of clothes. Three pairs of pants, overalls, three shirts, hoodies, big snow coats, and socks on our hands as gloves. Then we ran outside into the snow. The whole neighborhood was bustling with activity, screams and laughter. Rangers doing doughnuts. The snow was so soft, it felt like flour! I had never seen so much snow in my entire life. We threw snowballs and made snow angels. After a while we took the boys inside to warm up and we got them some warm baths then I made a big pot of hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Then it was time for little boys to go to bed.
Once they went to sleep, Kevin & I went outside, and we played with the dogs in the snow. It was their first time seeing snow too. Baxter loved it, Abbie and Clementine weren't too sure, but they ran through it and rolled around in it, and Teddy hated it and stood at the door to go back inside.
Then it was time for us to go warm up and go to bed.
This morning when everyone woke up, we ate breakfast and what a view we had! Everything looked like a Winter Wonderland! We dressed warm again then headed back out! We ran and explored the yard, we had snowball fights, we tried to build a snowman, but I really don't know how and the snow had a layer of ice on top, so we stuck to snowballs and racing in the snow. They loaded their dump trucks up with snow and ran around the yard. We had so much fun.
I put on some taco soup & now we are waiting on our pipes to unfreeze. It's naptime now. A nap with snow covering the outside is just unmatched right now.
Talk to you later!
