Simple Meaningful Gift Ideas

Writer: Lady of the Farm Lady of the Farm

I posted on Instagram about how we should normalize giving meaningful, sentimental gifts. Gifts made or grown with love. Baked goods, flowers, etc. Things that are simple, yet bring joy. I got to thinking, that

some people may need help with ideas for what I mean there. So I have compiled this list of things that are so wonderful and meaningful as gifts.

  1. Flowers. Who doesn't love a lovely bouquet of flowers grown in a friend's garden? This is ultimately one of my many favorites on this list! Sunflowers, tulips, baby's breath, lavender, roses, hydrangeas, the list could go on and on!

  2. Produce from the garden. Produce is a great gift, the gift of food! Grab a basket of peaches or a bucket of peas, maybe a watermelon, and take it to a friend to give them something new to snack on!

  3. Herb bundles. Basil, mint, cilantro, and dill, give them dried or fresh! Just tie them with twine and they're ready to be gifted. hey can be used for cooking or aromatherapy and can be grown in a small container on the patio.

  4. Beeswax. Beeswax is a wonderful gift for someone who crafts. You can make eggshell candles, beeswax wraps, chapstick, & salves, beeswax is a great gift!

  5. Candles. Candles is a loosely used term. You can make a mason jar candle with your beeswax, or a set of eggshell candles, really you can get as creative as you'd like. Just make sure it's not in anything flammable. This is a great gift for the person who loves hygge anything!

  6. Bread. Amish Friendship Bread is the gift that keeps on giving. Just make sure you have plenty of friends LOL! Herb bread, sourdough bread, even cinnamon rolls! Any kind of homemade bread is delish!

  7. Letters. An old-fashioned letter is always a gift. Nowadays we text and then delete and it's just gone. An old-fashioned letter would be such a great gift because it can be saved forever.

  8. Cake. I love a homemade from scratch cake. I love to make homemade cakes, but at the same time, I hate cleaning up after baking. It's easier to just cheat and go to the store. That makes a from-scratch cake mean so much more.

  9. Crocheted Items. Crocheted items are my weakness. I have a chest full of crocheted blankets I have received through the years. I love that you made every bit with your hands and so much love can be poured into it.

  10. Embroidered Items. Embroidery is a work of art. You can design whatever your mind creates with it and it makes such a personal and special gift. You can embroider shirts, onesies, pants, handkerchiefs, napkins, any fabric really!

  11. Hand-sewn items. Aprons, blankets, dresses, shirts, bears, etc. When I was pregnant, I hand sewed two heartbeat ducks. They're not pretty but one day they will mean so much to our boys to hear their heartbeats and my voice. Or at least I hope it will mean so much to them LoL!

  12. Plant Seedlings. Plant seedlings are a total weakness! If you have a starter plant that is ready to go in the ground, I am down! I hate the wait of planting seeds. I just hate waiting and waiting and waiting. I love to receive seedlings.

  13. Mason Jar food kits. All the dry ingredients to make cookies, brownies, soup, etc. This is great for people who want a quick easy snack or meal. You have everything you need right there so no need to go to the store and buy more than what you actually need.

  14. Jellies, Jams, Salsa. My favorite! I am a sucker for sitting down with a jar of some kind of goodness. Crackers, cream cheese, and jelly or jam on top. OR a jar of homemade salsa with chips. Whew!

Here are a few gift ideas for you to put into action this Summer! What kind of simple, meaningful gifts would you like to receive?
