With so much going on around the farm I am completely sucking at posting on a regular schedule. Life is almost like in a fast-forward button. I feel like I don't have enough time in the day to get everything done. Today I spent my day keeping an eye on Molly & Holly.
"My sweet Holly laying in the grass."
For those of you who don't know, Molly is the mama cow that the farmer bought me at the sale and Holly is the calf that she had after a few weeks of being here. Molly is not able to give Holly enough milk since it's her first calf ever and oh is Holly hungry! She's constantly going to Molly trying to suck but poor Molly just can't help her out. We've given her a bottle today and yesterday and she drinks it all quickly then goes to Molly wanting more. She's a growing girl with an appetite! That's for sure!
The other day, we were searching for Holly and couldn't find her anywhere. Molly had walked off with the others and the farmer kept walking through the pastures looking. I saw a small brown blob in the grass and I said, "What in the world?" I kept creeping closer and closer. It wasn't moving. My heart began to race. I whispered to myself, "Please, please, please be alive." I got closer and she still wasn't getting up. She was curled up in a ball and had her eyes shut. I couldn't tell if she was breathing. "Kevin! Over here! Hurry!" I inched closer until I saw her ear twitch. I sighed a deep breath of relief as the farmer ran over. Her eyes started to open slowly and she sat staring at me (which is when I got the adorable photo attached). I'm still a little worried about both of them because they're not out of the woods until they're both gaining weight and both are eating well. So keep them in your prayers for the time being. Please & Thank You. 😇
