Today is the day! Farmer's Market & roadside stand season is here!
Let me start by saying, the book pictured, "Fresh Picked Poetry" is one of my favorite books currently. It's a poem book that follows a day at the market. It's such a cute book with beautiful illustrations and such accurate poems LOL the one that speaks of the farmer's beautiful castles of vegetables then the customer comes and wants all the ones on the bottom. Whew, it's pretty accurate. It's just a cute book for the kids to look at this Summer. Last night, we read it before bed and both boys were so intrigued by it. They loved looking at the illustrations.
Alright off to the roadside stand!
I was supposed to go see a friend today but I woke up feeling crummy, nothing major, just crummy. I think between pumping (more on that in another post) and these late nights irrigating, I think it just has my immune system weak). The Farmer got a call and we went and delivered baskets to the produce stand and helped set up. The boys enjoyed all the attention from customers who came up while the rest of us set up the stand.
They are going to love the produce season this year.
I for one, am excited about the fresh flavors. I can't wait to work on my cucumber archway and finish my planting this weekend. I think this Summer I may post more recipes and plenty of the Summer activities that we do.
