How to Make Pepper Sauce

Writer: Lady of the Farm Lady of the Farm

Pepper Sauce is a staple in our house. We always have some in the fridge, ready and waiting for a big pot of turnip greens or a pot of peas!

We received a large number of cayenne peppers from a friend and I have never grown any or had that many, but the first thing that came to mind was pepper sauce!

This is how I made it!

First, I cut off the stems and packed them tightly into a clean, sterilized jar. I even threw in a few cloves of garlic to add a little extra flavor.

Then, I boiled enough vinegar to cover the peppers & poured it over them. I shook it a little to get the peppers covered good. Now, it will sit in my cabinet for weeks? months? Until I am good and ready!

I'll probably turn it every so often to get all the pepper and garlic flavor I can get into the vinegar! So there ya have it!

When I am done with that vinegar in the jar, then I will add some more vinegar over the same peppers. I am on the same birdseye pepper jar from literally three years ago and they're still going strong.
