Georgia Peach Festival + A Recipe

The smells of the peaches always lure people into the markets. As soon as a box of ripe peaches is popped open, the fragrance makes its way through the market and steals the show. The Georgia Peach is something that can't be copy and pasted. That flavor is something unique that you can't find anywhere else in the world. Don't believe me? Check where your peaches in the store are grown, if it's out of state, compare it to a Georgia peach.

Last Summer, a woman from Florida had come to the market. She told me that because our peaches were firm that they'd be rotten on the inside. (A firm peach is an indicator that it was just picked or picked green and box ripened.) So to prove this lady wrong, I grabbed the peach she said would be rotten and ate half of it to show her that nope, not rotten. and juice poured down my chin, my arms and my grin said it all. This lady GRABBED MY PEACH and ate it????? Like we aren't in a pandemic, crazy lady! But, anyway, she also bought two big baskets full of peaches, apologized then said she'd be back when she came back through.
