Yes, even a farmer's wife will frequent the markets. (We can't grow all the stuff I like to get!)
So, one of the things I absolutely love is to take my own bags like this one! Even when we are selling produce, I still take my own bags, why?
Vendors take a certain amount of plastic bags and if they run out f them they have to begin searching around for other vendors who have extra bags or leave to go to the store and buy some. We've had to do both, we can bring an entire box of bags but on busy days, sometimes we run through them very easily. Especially when double bagging heavier items like cantaloupe. (It's easier for older people and people who have their hands full to carry the cantaloupe in a bag and we get that! We want you to have an easier time carrying your produce in your home!)
It's such a different experience to be carrying your own beautiful produce bag versus the "Thank You" plastic bags or a local grocery store bag that has been saved back. These bags have such a french open air market vibe and I just love it. Like I am here for the entire French style Summer vibes.
It's better for the environment! These bags can be reused for such a long time instead of being thrown right into the trash or taking up space in your pantry storage. Yes, we've been those people too who have an entire bag full of bags and we use them for literally nothing more than trash bags in the bathrooms. Who needs 300+ bathroom trash bags? Apparently us.
I love these french market bags that we will have in the market tab here on Lady of the Farm! I can't wait to use mine during produce season. These will be available as soon as the Market page opens for March!
