Farmer's Market

I began a new job venture. I'm helping out The Farmer at the fruit stands on Tuesdays and Fridays. It's been two or three weeks now and I think I'm doing pretty good. It's almost like a therapy working with all the bright and beautiful colors.

It's amazing to me how every single vegetable and every single fruit on that table has so much to it. Like, for example the peaches (which are Georgia peaches). They are so small yet have such an amazing impact on the body. One medium peach has 50 calories so it is great for losing weight. If you're on a mission to lose weight then this is the fruit for you. It helps to ward off obesity related diseases like cardiovascular disease & diabetes, can reduce wrinkles, and also combats the formation of free radicals known to cause cancer.

Who would've thought that such a tiny fruit could have such an impact on our bodies?

My first day at the fruit stand I stood in front of so much food. It was pretty intimidating actually. All those fruits and vegetables and all those baskets.

It Was Chaotic.

I tried to pile up the tomatoes like The Farmer's mom was but they fell down... It was like building a cute little house of sticks and it falling down over and over again. Finally she came over and took over the tomatoes. On to the next thing. Blackberries. All I had to do was pick them up carefully and place them into a basket, which was too easy. Touching the berries is literally so relaxing. Hold on! Before you get all weird on me, let me explain. Berries are like touching a little life. You have to do it delicately so you don't crush it and when you really think about it, God made the berries, every detail on them. It's like holding onto a piece of God's creation straight from the source. I mean, truly think about it, you get the berry from the bush, vine, sprout, wherever. Then you hold it in your hand, you roll it around in between your fingers. It's so sweet to taste and so cute to look at.

It's been two or three weeks now and life at the Farmer's Market has gotten a lot easier. (So have those tomatoes baskets!) I can actually do the table set-up halfway decently! I'm getting there!

Another thing that makes me smile at the Farmer's Market is when people ask if the Farmer & I are married. His response is "Very Soon!" and mine is always "Might as well be!" I feel like we are a great team for this fruit stand. I don't think I could do it without him honestly.

 I love Him.

I wish he were still awake, he fell asleep about 20 minutes ago. I wish I could show him this right now and tell him how much I truly do care about him. In the morning, when he wakes up I hope he sees this. He's so special to me.

It's a little crazy. I've been working on this book for a year now and it feels like that was my itty bitty baby for a while. Late nights...
