Farm Citrus Cleaner




A Farmhouse DIY: Citrus Scented All-Purpose Cleaner 

Chaos.


The house is in pure chaos. I stood in the kitchen looking over the chaos that I call my kitchen. I needed to get the motivation to clean. The mess in my kitchen should be enough motivation to clean, right? 


I took a deep breath and began to sweep the floor. I thought a moment and decided to try out my citrus cleaner. Citrus Cleaner? Oh yes. You read that right. 


I found it on some website when I was trying to find ways to save money. I was constantly at the dollar general buying cleaning supplies and it was starting to add up. $4 here and $7 there. It adds up. 


So there I was researching ways to make cleaners and I found this citrus cleaner. 


MAKING IT: All you need is lemon or orange peels and distilled white vinegar. You just take the citrus peels and place them in a mason jar. Pack them in and pour the vinegar over the peels. Place them in a dark space like a pantry for two weeks then it'll be ready to use. 


USING IT: When you get ready to use it, mix it in with some water then it's ready to use. You can mix it in with a spray bottle of water or do like I did and mix it in with a sink full of water to dilute it. It has a light citrus scent when mixed in with the water. I used a cleaning rag, dipped it into the water then "foot mopped" my kitchen. It worked great and my kitchen smells amazing!
