"Try this!" I handed a glass of water to the farmer as he was coming in the kitchen, "What is that?" I smirked, "Detox water." He drank another sip which meant he liked it! Yay Me! I've been trying to lose weight for a month, even more desperately in the last two weeks. So detox water has been the go-to in our house. I actually think detox water may have replaced sweet tea this week. Crazy, right? Here is everything you need to know about detox water!
How are you feeling?
Constipated? Bloated? Gassy? Have headaches? Fatigued? Achy & sore? Nauseous? Do you have belly fat, skin problems, food cravings, low energy, bad breath or mood swings?
If you can read that last part and you're sitting there thinking, "Jeez, Adrian, how did you know?" Then join the club of us that are full of toxins.
It's time to detox our bodies y'all!
How do I even begin?
Find yourself a pitcher, glass, or jar to keep your water stored in.
I used one of my crystal pitchers. Fill it with fruits and herbs. I used a mix of strawberries, lemon, and basil.
(I knew that I liked sweeter flavors so I used lots of strawberries, almost an entire clamshell of them. I sliced one lemon and used three big basil leaves.)
Pour water over the fruit and let it sit 24 hours in the fridge. You can refill it with water once or twice but after a couple days the fruit will begin to taste bitter and will no longer be good.
What are some other mixes I can use?
Cucumber + Watermelon
Strawberry + Lemon + Basil
Raspberry + Lime
Blackberries + Mint
Blueberry + Mint + Kiwi
Pineapple + Lemon + Pomegranate
Strawberry + Cucumber + Lime
Watermelon + Mint
You'll notice there are no measurements on my mixes list, the reason for that is that everyone has different taste buds. I prefer sweetness over acidity or savory so I know to use more of the sweet fruits like the berries. Make your detox water the way you want. Enjoy & detox!
