Back at Mama's House.

After being stuck inside for a few weeks coughing up a lung, sneezing and wiping my nose, (I had a cold for about two weeks and I still have the wheezing and coughing) I decided yesterday that I needed to get out of the house. I went to mama's with Bella and we spent the day taking walks, riding bikes, and seeing "Uncle Gunther", my fur brother..

We decided to walk down the dirt road in front of the house, i'll give you a visual. Picture an old dirt road with woods on both sides, oak tree at the end, moss hanging over the road, the sun making its way through some trees is almost like a spotlight on the road. Then in the woods, is a little bit of history that will get your imagination to running.

You're probably wondering what I'm talking about, right? Well, when I was little I was looking out the window on the way home and I saw something large in the woods. Of course, I had to go check it out so I walked back out and looked, it was an old chimney. There used to be old stuff like bricks, wiring, stuff like that around that area but it's all been gone a few years. I've always wondered what had been there. Maybe someone's house? Who knows! But then yesterday as I was walking Bella I saw some of the old cement blocks that I've always seen but I started looking closer and I saw that the blocks were the foundation of something that had once been there. The entire foundation is still there, if you look close you can even see where the door would've been! For a history buff like myself of course I was so excited to see a part of the past poking up out of the ground.

Before all the others moved into the area there was an old wood-framed house in the woods beside my house. When I was little, I used to tell my neighbor friends that it was a witch's house that had been torn down and their house had been built on top of it and she would haunt their house. Ha! Kids ;)

Anyway, I kind of miss living out there. It's peaceful and quiet. I used to wake up, make my coffee and by that time everyone would be gone. It was so peaceful. I'd go out on my back porch and drink my coffee, watch the farmer in the field or just lay down and listen to the birds chirp. You'd hear the occasional car go by. Where I'm living now in the city limits, you'll hear cars go by all day, you can't see stars at night, and there are little to no bees around to pollinate my garden. I used to see hummingbirds all the time out there but now, I see none where I live. I'd love to move back out to the country again. At least I know that the Farmer and I will be living in the country once we are married.

It's a little crazy. I've been working on this book for a year now and it feels like that was my itty bitty baby for a while. Late nights...
