A Springtime & Planting Update.

Springtime is here and life has been packed full of planting seeds every few days. Tomatoes, peppers, corn, potatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, flowers, we have begun planting it all. I've been working tirelessly on this garden at Twin Pines.

That's why I've been a little quiet this past week or two. It's been super busy. On top of the gardening, we've had actual planting season with our crops beginning and also Kevin has taken up guiding hunts out at my family's hunting preserve.

Here's a few photos of what we've had going on:

The Farmer & I have begun on our corn! We have eight varieties of regular sweet corn. This week we will be planting two more varieties that'll be ready around June.

Another neat thing we will be growing is a specialty popping corn.

Did you read that?? POPPING CORN! As in, put the corn cob in the microwave and turn it on and you can have popcorn on the cob! lol!

To be in the garden, it's almost mandatory to be barefoot. Not only do I firmly believe in grounding yourself and feeling closer to God when you immerse yourself fully with his creations but also because it's so soft that you have to be barefoot to keep your balance.

I do love the feeling of the dirt on my feet. Listen, at the end of a Spring day you and the children should be dirty and sweaty and messy haired. It's the best way to be.

The garden gave me a marble this past week! How cool is that?!

I've been told that Twin Pines was just a field so for long, but finding this marble makes me wonder. We've also found a chunk of a glass coke bottle from the early 1900s.

This place just keeps giving!

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into our life here at Twin Pines Homestead! Hope you all have a wonderful week!
