The book I wrote this last year was such a labor of love for me. I woke up from a dream that I had forgotten all my memories. I was in an assisted living facility and the only thing I had left to remember my life was the books I had written. So I began writing this dreamy book called, "A Year of Us" in the fear that my dream may one day come true.
It's such a dreamy little farm book. Stories of mulberries growing wild on the edges of fields, bike rides at sunrise on my vintage yellow bike, long days full of hard work, and sunny Summer days filled with random cold showers through the day to stay cool.
It was such a chaotic year last year, life was uncertain and no one really knew what was coming next. Covid made everything so scary and the memories of covid were hard so I purposely left out covid memories from this book. This book is meant to bring on feel-good feelings, smiles, and bring a warm feeling to your heart and soul. Not to make you worry or remember the bad of last year.
It's the kind of book you can read to your grandmother and she will remember her own memories from days gone by. (Not to mention it has great photos and a beautiful cover with an antique mason jar full of wildflowers from our North Carolina house!)
