A Country Christmas.

Christmas songs sung by a choir filled the town square.

The smells of cocoa wafted through the air.

The sounds of old tractors echoed through the alleyways.

It was the Alapaha Country Christmas.

The tiny town of Alapaha sits outside of the seat of Berrien County, nestled just north of Nashville it is a small and quaint town. My dad's side of the family was born and raised here in this tiny town and growing up on Sundays they'd dress me and my cousin up in our frilly dresses and head to the Alapaha Baptist Church. Which is where most of my family still goes. The little gas station down the street was the one where I'd get my bug juice from. We'd walk down the sidewalk to the store as teenagers. As an adult, the only time I really get to Alapaha is when I'm visiting family or going to my "sister/best friend's" hair salon in town. I had the flu during the Alapaha Station Celebration, which is a huge celebration that brings people from far and wide to this tiny town, I go for the food. So I made it a point to get to the Country Christmas Celebration.

We dressed the boys in their comfy new pajama tops, threw on their overalls and boots, and then headed into town. We first dropped in on nana Bonnie to say hi. Then we walked down to the town square.

As soon as we walked up I saw some of my family gathered at the photo backdrops area so we headed over to say hi and get some photos taken. After the photos, we walked through the lights of the town square.

Lights filled the square, it was all so magical. The gazebo in the center of the square had a massive tree decorated so beautifully. We walked until we heard a vintage tractor starting up, we walked closer and it was an old vintage tractor pulling a sleigh with Santa in the back!

Next came the children's parade. Children ride their toy cars, trucks, jeeps, hoverboards, scooters, etc. in parade style around the town square followed by golf carts, rangers, and other side by sides. The boys were amazed and enjoyed seeing the little parade.

After the parade, we met up with Auntie Laura & her family. We rode on a hay ride through the back streets of the town and around the old train depot.

Then afterward, we met up with more of my family and went to see Santa and grab some cookies and hot cocoa. Then as little farm boys began to get more and more hungry, it was time to go back to nana Bonnie's for dinner with the rest of the family. After letting the boys see everyone and play with everyone, it was time for little farm boys to head home, get in their pajamas, and head to bed for another big day tomorrow!

Night night!
