16 Products for Month One with a Baby.

Even though I've only been rocking this whole mom thing for a couple of weeks I have already begun to realize my "lifesavers". With twins, you tend to really be thrust into this parenthood thing full force and full-time. That means you have to have products that you can use with ease, convenience, & on a daily basis! Here are my favorite items I've been using:

  • Twin Z Pillow - The Twin Z Pillow is basically a boppy for two babies that can also turn into a nursing pillow for you to use. The pillow is the shape of a "3" and the centerpiece can be lifted up and the sides clipped around you to make a chair for you to use during nursing.

  • Tommee Tippee & Dr. Browns Bottles - Tommee Tippee is my FAVORITE with Dr. B's coming in at a close second. I read about it in a parenting group and decided to try them and see which bottles the babies seemed to gravitate towards more. They'll drink out of Dr. Brown's bottles good, but Tommee Tippee seems to work better and give fewer spit-ups. Dr. Brown gets a bad rep for "too many parts", but really it's not as bad as people made it out to be.

  • Blooming Bath - The blooming bath is a huge cushioned flower, we have it in the sunflower design since ya know, unofficial sunflower farmers. You put your flower in the sink, put your water in, and lay the baby in the center like a little bumblebee. Not only is it super cozy for baby but it's also the cutest thing I have ever seen.

  • Swaddles - Swaddles have literally been a lifesaver. We use them as light blankets, burp cloths, sheets for the bassinet, a changing table cover, there are literally a million uses for these things!

  • Baby Bath Robes - These make life so much easier after bathtime! The boys love to be taken out of the bath and dried off in their fuzzy robes while I lotion them up.

  • Owlet Monitor - The owlet sock has been amazing but the monitor has been out of this world! When the boys are in their bassinet and we need to clean, take showers, etc the monitor can be accessed through an app on our phones. We can hear them over our phones in our bedroom. It's great!

  • Hatch Noise Machine & Night Light - The Hatch noise machine & night light is so neat! It can be controlled from your phone. The boys won't sleep without it on at night. You can choose the color of the night light from any color on the color wheel, you can also choose which sound you sleep to from about 9 different sounds. Our favorites are rainstorms, forest sounds, and ocean waves.

  • Aveeno Baby - Aveeno Baby has won my heart in the past month. I love motioning up the boys after their baths with it, I use it in the mornings when they're waking up during their wipe down, and it worked for both of their cradle caps. Of course, everyone will find something different for their babies but for my little bald men Aveeno Baby worked wonders! I'd just slather it on every day and within a couple of days all the cradle cap was completely gone.

  • Vaseline - In our first month, we also dealt with diaper rash and raw booty. Vaseline was our biggest MVP!

  • Wipes - You can never have too many wipes. Let me say it again, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY WIPES. My favorite wipes so far have been Parent's Choice, they have aloe-infused in them and are so smooth when wiping the babies. Some wipes feel so rough on them so these aloe ones are my winners!

  • Bedtime Swaddles - When the boys start fighting sleep at night we swaddle them and it mimicks my womb. They love their swaddles, soon we will have to switch to sleep sacks but until then we will enjoy our swaddles!

  • A Changing Basket - OMG I can't express my love for our changing basket enough. Everyone thought I was crazy for wanting a changing basket instead of a changing table. But I knew what I wanted and I am so glad I opted for a basket. You can take it anywhere in the house. Sometimes I change them in my bedroom, the dining room, living room, kitchen, I take it to the sink during bath time, and when we aren't changing diapers I store it away in our bedroom. But this thing is not only beautiful but also super useful.

  • Breastmilk Storage Bags & Pump - So pumps are a touchy issue. Some people swear by their Medela, some swear by Lansinoh, some swear by their NCVI, their BellaBaby. I've tried the last three of that list. BellaBaby, did not last past the first two weeks, the Lansinoh was a good option and so was the NCVI. I switch between those two on the daily. I also use Lansinoh storage bags!

  • Nipple Pads - THIS. You need these. You will destroy your clothes by leaking through so many shirts if you don't have these.

  • Pumping bra/ nursing bra - I used a pumping bra a lot at first but now I just use nursing bras, they're easier to slide over and comfy to wear all through the day.

  • Lactation Cookies / Body Armor Drinks / Fennelgreek / Supplement Drinks - Breastmilk is gold. Working to keep your supply and keep it up is a job! Use whatever works for you. I'll have a post about breastmilk & supply on a "Mommy Blog Monday".

Hope you enjoyed this list of things that helped us in month one of twin mom life! Here's to month two!
